Birth Doula Mentoring

Aspiring and PASSIONATE doulas who desire to mentor with Bee over the course of weeks/months privately to see if this type of birth worker career is a fit for them will now have the opportunity to work with her and potentially be on the Student Doula Team!

As a Doula Mentee, you have already taken a doula training (Outside training or Bee's Birth Academy) and want to navigate getting the necessary birth experience or knowledge about the hospital space to be a successful independent doula!

 

Shadowing with Bee may include:

- Shadowing of client visits, births or calls/consultations

- Weekly meetings to reflect and map out business goals, lessons

- Assistance with website, social media and business flow set up as an independent doula

- Assigned 1 -2 clients to shadow through pregnancy, birth and postpartum

My overall experience in the 10-month doula program has been pleasant and deeply enriching. I learned so much and gained a greater understanding of the holistic side of doula work,so much more than I learned in my first program. I’ve acquired a wealth of knowledge, including hands-on skills like placenta encapsulation, and developed a clearer understanding of the true role and heart of a doula.

In terms of birth shadowing, I realized I should have taken more initiative to request additional opportunities. Postpartum support feels like my natural area of strength, while birth work is where I’d like to continue growing. I haven’t yet spent enough time in birth spaces or actively participating in them, but that’s an area I plan to focus on moving forward.

The mentorship through Bee was exceptional, she provides everything needed to be a successful doula. It’s really up to each of us to utilize those resources and guidance to the fullest.

All of my client experiences have been positive and affirming. Overall, this program has expanded my confidence, skill set, and purpose as a doula. I’m grateful for the experience and excited to continue growing in this work.

Mentorship Details

 

All Trainings last 12 weeks from the start date

Classes take Friday Evenings (6pm - 9:30pm) or Saturday Rising (10a-3p)

Classes are one day per week

Bee requires people that are available, punctual, organized, and accountable to only apply! If you are not ready to take your life into your own hands, be motivated and get uncomfortable, then this is probably not the mentorship for you! If you miss 2 or more classes during training or mentorship, you will have to make up the classes in the following cohort. No exceptions. 

Certified Doula with BTD

Certification Information - Please read thoroughly 

The Pathway of becoming a Certified Doula with Bee The Doula starts with these steps:

Step 1: Complete the BTD 12 week Training + Mentorship Program.

After completion of the program, the doula has the option to continue on with Bee the Doula as a Student Doula with Bee the Doula. This is 100% optional.

Step 2: Take clients as a Student Doula under the company (discounted rate) and be apart of the BTD Doula Directory and BTD Event Committee (optional). You may also take clients from outside of the company if you wish.

Step 3: Complete 10 Months of Being a Student Doula (1 year after the competition of the mentorship program). The Doula will be eligible to become Certified with Bee the Doula, LLC if they supported at least 3 clients in some capacity (fertility, birth, postpartum, etc. - paid or pro bono). After a End of Mentorship Evaluation, the Doula will have the option of staying on with Bee The Doula as a Team Doula (higher doula pay) or continuing on as an independent Doula without Bee the Doula. We support you no matter your decision! 

Payment options

Payment Plans are available for Mentee Cohorts! Payment Plans Must be Resolved BEFORE the end of the Mentorship Program! Mentee's have the option to pay in full if they desire! Afterpay is Accepted! Tax is included with the service.

  • 1 Week Mentoring

    • Payment in Full required

  • 12 Week Cohort

    • 4 Payments of $353.50 or 2 Payments of $707

    • A separate invoice can be made for a more detailed payment plan - case by case basis
